In the fourth of a series of articles on quantum biofeedback, Nutritionist Belinda Rennie looks at how to boost cell vitality and beat fatigue

As the metropolis of Dubai sprawls along the coast, out to sea and through the dunes, the biggest challenge to residents is how to keep sane and healthy in 2009. Not surprisingly, the most common problem is how to combat fatigue and boost energy levels and in doing so make life fun and enjoyable rather than a daily grind. You can tackle the common problem of low vitality by looking at the life sustaining effects of oxygen from the macro to the micro on three levels:  via the breath and lungs, via blood as it is transported around the body and at the level of the cell wall membrane.

Breathing: the big picture

Breathing is the one of the most underutilized detox pathways of the body. When we expel carbon dioxide through our nose (rather than mouth) with nasal breathing we are essentially detoxing every minute of the day. Living and working in enclosed buildings with AC further limits the amount of fresh air we breathe.  Connecting with the breath through abdominal breathing is one of the easiest ways to de-stress and reduce the activity of the nervous system. It is essential that you find time for brisk walking preferably outside and close to the beach or green space or practise deep nasal breathing through yoga or pranayama. Meditation like Sahaj Marg -the natural path- helps to reset breathing naturally as our body tunes into the heart centre. Whatever you do make breathing your priority for 2009.

Blood

At the level of the blood we need to be conscious of how good digestion, nutrition and keeping the blood clear of pathogens like viruses, bacteria, molds and fungi all contribute to high energy levels. When foods are well digested with the right amount of enzymes and juices our blood flows smoothly without the “stickiness” created by undigested protein fragments. A high fruit and vegetable based diet creates a glorious alkaline environment that helps the blood carry nutrients to all cells of the body. Adequate iron and Vitamin B complex from pulses, nuts, seeds, dark green leafy vegetables and lean organic meat and eggs is essential for healthy blood cells that can carry oxygen effortlessly. When the immune system is firing on all cylinders, the pathogenic material that cause disease is kept at bay.

Micro cellular level

Cells function best when they are well hydrated, surrounded by lots of mineral electrolytes and the when the cell walls contain high levels of essential fatty acids. In these conditions, oxygen transport across the cell membranes just zings along. Homeopathically prepared tissue salts help to restore the body’s equilibrium of minerals that are vital for every conceivable chemical reaction in the cell. As tissue salt practitioner Samantha Fairooz says, “Just 5 tablets each on magnesium phosphoricum and ferrum phosphoricum dissolved in a litre of water and sipped throughout the day can have a huge impact upon the body’s ability to maintain adequate oxygen levels and stabilize muscles and nerves.

Quality oils from fats found in fish, organic eggs, nuts and seeds and their cold pressed oils are incorporated into cell walls making them highly flexible, ready to take in all the nutrients and expel all the waste products. Just by boosting your levels of omega 3 fats through diet and supplements your energy can go through the roof.  A natural remedy discovered in the 1950’s by Dr Joanna Budwig combines flax oil with cottage cheese, quark or yoghurt in a blender. The sulphur compounds from the dairy cause an incredible release of oxygen from the flax oil. Blend five tablespoons of flax oil with 250 grams of cottage cheese, quark or yoghurt and add to porridge, in smoothies or on top of fruit.

Quantum biofeedback is an ideal way to address stressors that can affect your cellular vitality and oxygen levels. It re-energises the body by helping to locate and remove the stressors that are blocking energy pathways. An initial three minute energetic scan of the body similar to a virus scanner on a computer can measure hydration, pH levels, oxygenation, adrenal and brain function and cellular vitality all from the frequencies that are emitted by the body. Through a biofeedback loop, a correcting frequency helps to balance the body using a variety of therapies like electro-acupuncture, nutrition and iridology.  It brings to your attention the most important lifestyle changes you can make in 2009 to accelerate healing and return the body to optimum health.
